Guest chef evening this Wednesday in Derby!!

Our very first guest chef night is happening this Wednesday 18th October 2017 in Derby.

Hosting the evening is the amazing Palfrey bar and restaurant whom recently won best bar in the Derbyshire food and drink awards!! Congratulations guys!

This is a collaboration between head chef Danny Edwards and Craig Floate, 2 very talented chefs with a passion for amazingly flavoursome food, beautifully presented and expertly balanced over the menu.

We have drafted a very special 6 course taster menu for the evening, with focus on flavour and seasonality in all courses.

With the beautiful settings of the Palfrey bar and restaurant this is sure to be an exclusive event not to be missed, with only x30 lucky diners will be able to experience with us, matched with some fantastic wines and local gins.

Located in the historic Old Blacksmiths Yard on Sadlergate, The Palfrey is a newly refurbished unique and contemporary restaurant and wine bar, where we aim to provide a relaxed and friendly environment for our customers.

Guest chef night coming to Derby this October!!!

Our first guest chef night is happening in Derby this October on Wednesday 18th October 2017 at The Palfrey.

This fantastic evening brings a collaboration with head chef Danny Edwards and Craig Floate for a seasonal menu for the evening with 6 fabulous courses all focusing on maximum flavour with a fantastic presentation of colours and tastes to delight all.

Chef Danny Edwards has been with The Palfrey since they opened their doors and in 2016 and was largely involved in the set up of the whole building and design of the kitchen and dining room. He is a champion of local produce and fine flavours that he offers to his guests day in day out keeping them coming back for more, ensuring The palfrey is now one of Derby’s top dining destinations to be seen at.

Chef Craig Floate is a private/freelance chef who runs a private dining business in Nottingham catering to many people in private settings for fine dinner parties and fine occasions. Previously team chef to the British Sailing team and working in and around Europe with the team in the run up to the 2012 London Olympic and Paralympic games. He now works with celebrity chefs on food festivals, and catering for private clients most weekends all around the UK.

With 2 such talented chefs designing the menu for the evening this is sure to be an event not be missed and tickets are selling fast already so be sure to get on the list for this amazing evening of food and wine.

1st of 3 pop-up events planned this Spring!

This spring will see my first ever pop-up restaurant taking place in the city centre of Nottingham.

This is the 1st of 3 pop-ups’ planned at the same venue, a smart, quirky boutique shop in the Nottingham based in and around the famous lace market. Debbie Bryan offers the best of contemporary design whilst maintaining a pride in Nottingham’s rich textile heritage. Since opening the shop in 2009, Debbie has been working with inspiring thinkers to create memorable creative experiences and to develop unique products that are inspired by British heritage and our in-house Lace Archive.

A fabulous 6 course menu has been planned for the evening with focus on flavour and creating a relaxed, comfortable informal dining area for the evening.

Using local suppliers and producers as usual with all my events, I always seek the best ingredients I can get my hands on and always challenge these fantastic suppliers to do the same which they never fail to do.

Pop-up finally happening, for Valentines day

Here it is….. Our first pop-up restaurant event! I’ve been wanting to plan one of these for a while now and after a few offers where the venue wasn’t right we finally have found a perfect venue and we are rolling out a special valentines day pop-up restaurant over 2 night.

The Venue –
Coffee Arnold, Arnold, Nottingham

The dates –
13th and 14th February 2015

The times –
6.30pm – 8.30pm
8.30pm – close

The menu on then night will be showcasing the best of our local suppliers produce which is a passion of mine, knowing where all your food comes from. There will be a small selection of wines and soft drinks available to buy on the night also.

This is a joint venture with myself running the kitchen along with my long time friend Richard Ozenbrook who currently is head chef at the busy ice arena in Nottingham.

The menu priced at £35ph for 3 courses, features a set menu with all food tasting and looking amazing with a few added extras on there…… ssshhh 🙂

This hopefully will be the start of a new venture that we have named NGdining with pop-up’s happening all over the Midlands in some wonderful and varied places, trailing different foods and different ways of doing all things food. That’s the beauty of a pop-up, it gives you the platform to try out new dishes and testing new flavours, with people usually a bit more forgiving if you get it wrong! (Fingers crossed we don’t)
