Guest chef evening this Wednesday in Derby!!

Our very first guest chef night is happening this Wednesday 18th October 2017 in Derby.

Hosting the evening is the amazing Palfrey bar and restaurant whom recently won best bar in the Derbyshire food and drink awards!! Congratulations guys!

This is a collaboration between head chef Danny Edwards and Craig Floate, 2 very talented chefs with a passion for amazingly flavoursome food, beautifully presented and expertly balanced over the menu.

We have drafted a very special 6 course taster menu for the evening, with focus on flavour and seasonality in all courses.

With the beautiful settings of the Palfrey bar and restaurant this is sure to be an exclusive event not to be missed, with only x30 lucky diners will be able to experience with us, matched with some fantastic wines and local gins.

Located in the historic Old Blacksmiths Yard on Sadlergate, The Palfrey is a newly refurbished unique and contemporary restaurant and wine bar, where we aim to provide a relaxed and friendly environment for our customers.

We still have a couple of tables left for this fantastic event happening this Wednesday 18th October 2017.

1st of 3 pop-up events planned this Spring!

This spring will see my first ever pop-up restaurant taking place in the city centre of Nottingham.

This is the 1st of 3 pop-ups’ planned at the same venue, a smart, quirky boutique shop in the Nottingham based in and around the famous lace market. Debbie Bryan offers the best of contemporary design whilst maintaining a pride in Nottingham’s rich textile heritage. Since opening the shop in 2009, Debbie has been working with inspiring thinkers to create memorable creative experiences and to develop unique products that are inspired by British heritage and our in-house Lace Archive.

A fabulous 6 course menu has been planned for the evening with focus on flavour and creating a relaxed, comfortable informal dining area for the evening.

Using local suppliers and producers as usual with all my events, I always seek the best ingredients I can get my hands on and always challenge these fantastic suppliers to do the same which they never fail to do.

There are still a couple of tables left for this exciting event that is not to be missed for all food lovers and their friends

60th birthday celebrations, showing 60 is the new 40!

“>20140202-133623.jpg

This weeks private dining event took us to the village of Tutbury near Burton upon Trent for a 60th birthday celebration. For a very lovely lady and 9 of her close friends and family. The venue was an old converted barn with a kitchen to die for! Plenty of space with a fantastic dining room, and small space for drinks and canapés. The evening started with a live acoustic guitar set from a local player, a perfect way to start the evening whilst sinking down some Moët champagne, and a simple canapé of smoked salmon blinis.

The menu for the evening –
• Homemade truffle bread
• Goat cheese, spinach tart, balsamic dressing
• Duck breast, creamed leeks, spices cherry jus
• Selection of fresh fruits, homemade ice cream
• Petit fours and coffee and brandy

A fantastic evening, the duck nice and succulent and pink, the starters a nice light way to start the meal. With the dessert a playful lend to when we were younger with fruit and ice cream with classic flavours – Honeycomb, rum and raisin, mint chocolate, clotted cream.

Once again, very happy and drunk guests courtesy of our waiter for the evening Dan.

60th birthday party goes down a treat

IMG_6368

Last Saturday took us to quite a distance away to a lovely little village in Shropshire to cater for a ladies 60th birthday celebrations in a luxury cottage she had rented for her and all her family.

A very close and intimate affair, with the dining room table almost in the kitchen so you could say she had the chefs table!!

On the menu for the evening for this event

  • Trio of melon, mascarpone cheese, basil oil
  • Rack of lamb, ratatouille roasted vegetables, thyme and rosemary sauce
  • Traditional apple and berry crumble, toasted almonds, crème fraiche

The whole event was a fantastic success, all the guests very happy indeed and once again by the time we left very drunk!!!

A truly memorable way to celebrate your 60th birthday with all her loved ones and fantastic food and drink to complete the evening
